LUBA Racing Team emerged champions of the Royal Brunei Land Force' (RBLF) Team Time Trial 2013 after clocking 1:23 yesterday.
Team Kura-Kura came in second on 1:30, followed by Team BKB 'B' (1:38), Kumpulan Basikal Kampung (1:40) and Team Helang (1:40) in the one-day event held at the Penanjong Camp in Tutong, according to a press release sent by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces yesterday.
Luba Racing Team clocked an average of 40.05km/h, Team Kura-Kura 37.04km/h, Team BKB 'B' 34.15km/h, Kumpulan Basikal Kampung 33.36km/h and Team Helang 33.30km/h.
The invitational category for cyclists not affiliated with the RBLF was won by Mix BT Team on 1:13 min and with an average speed of 45.94km/h.
The time-trial covered a total of 54km and had the cyclists travel on the Tutong-Muara Highway and make a U-turn at the Jerudong Park Flyover before returning to the Penanjong Camp.
Twenty-two teams joined the event, including eight invitational teams from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and district teams.
The event's guest of honour was RBLF Commander Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Yussof Hj Abd Rahman.
